Summer Intensive Mentorship Program G10-11
About this Mentorship Program
- Learn how to do close readings of literature for deep comprehension
- Learn how to analyze literature through the text as well as in context.
- Master how to concisely and effectively communicate your analysis into an essay written at a level acceptable at Yale University.
- => Seminars to cover close reading, analysis, and essay writing with independent assignments between meetings.
- => Completion of a high-level Essay for potential submission to essay competitions.

It has not been enough just to get good grades and test scores for acceptance in to the elite universities. The top universities in the US are looking for students who show clearly what they are passionate about and demonstrate those passions through their achievements.
Whether it is outstanding performance in competitions, individual projects exploring their interest areas, or leadership in organizations related to them, a student's drive and ambitions as gleaned from their resumes are what will move the minds of admissions officers.

As an Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania working in the area of Urban Planning and Public Policy, studying impact of disenfranchised groups and urban political power.
Lara Buchak
Currently a professor at Princeton University, Lara was a professor also at UC Berkeley for 12 years. Her focus of study is decision, game, and rational choice theory.
